Hi Sam,
having large HDR files for rendering sometimes does not matter, other times it just makes so much difference.
Think about rendering an animation and save an HDR sequence. Let's say you have HD 1080 resolution and 10.000 frames and you need to deliver it to someone else. You'd most probably buy a hard drive and send it through courier since each frame in Radiance (.hdr) format will probably weigh around 12 to 15Mbytes resulting in around 150 Gbytes for the whole sequence.
Letting alone the hard drive and shipping costs, the hard drive might fail once delivered, it could be lost, damaged etc. so you might need to send it again losing even more time and money.
Now imagine having 10 Gbytes instead of 150 for the same HDR footage. You will most probably be transferring your sequence over your DSL connection in 24 or 48 hours safely and without added costs.
We did just that and we're preparing a case study you'll be able to read on our website soon.
As for Flash support, that is something we're definitely looking into. I think you might expect a full web solution by Q2 next year and it will most probably include a class for Flash.
