Let's open this forum with a clear example of what XDepth Raw Converter (XDRC) and the XDepth Raw technology is capable of.
Here's one of our own raw shots:

By clicking the thumbnail above a bigger image is shown. That image displays as a Jpeg file in your browser but it's in fact an XDepth Raw image.
In order to verify this, save the bigger image to disk and download XDepth Raw Converter, if you haven't already.
Open XDRC and load the image you just downloaded. As you can see from the XDRC File Browser the image is of type "XDepth Raw". As soon as the image is loaded you will be able to develop the image at full resolution as you'd do with any other raw file.
Here's a little comparison between the XDepth Raw file and the native raw file:
Native Raw File:
- Raw file type: RAF
- Maker&Model: Fuji FinePix S9500
- Size: 19,1 Mb
XDepth Raw File:
- Raw file type: XDepthRaw
- Maker&Model: Fuji FinePix S9500
- Size: 4,6 Mb
The XDepth Raw file is amazingly 4 times smaller than the original raw file. Note how the XDepthRaw version of the photo is 100% jpeg-compatible while being a true raw file! As for image quality you can judge by yourself using XDRC to develop the XDepthRaw file.
Also, check out the "Image->Author Info" menu, and you will be able to view the secured Author and Copyright information for this shot. That's why we shared our raw image on this forum, so we can get, for instance, presets for XDRC to download from other people while keeping the image safe.
