How does XDepth achieve compression?

Postby leoxweb on Thu Sep 24, 2009 2:39 pm

I am interested in how the codec achieves compression of the original HDR video data and how can it be compatible later with H.264/AVC.
What tools or transformations are used to get this compression ratios?

Thanks!

Hi,
unfortunately we cannot publicly describe the method yet.
The XDepth HDR Video codec is "multi-compatible", that means output can be compatible with any chosen codec - not only H.264.
For instance, you could have a DVD-compatible or Blu-Ray-compatible HDR movie...if you know what I mean.

You may try and ask a few questions to our technical dept. at software@xdepth.com , and see if they can help.

Best,
